Commons Beach

Come to downtown Tahoe City to enjoy this beautiful four acre beach and park! Commons Beach is a popular site for sunbathing, swimming and picnicking. Located within a large lakefront grass and sand area, there are group picnic sites and children's playgrounds.

During the summer, the beach is home to free Concerts at Commons Beach every Sunday afternoon and the Tahoe City Farmers Market every Thursday morning from 8am to 1pm (parking lot closed until 2pm).

The park also has a group barbecue area that can accommodate up to 75 people. Adjacent to that is an amphitheater that will seat another 65. Each of these areas is available for private rental along with many other outdoor venues maintained by the Tahoe City PUD.

We live in a high wildfire danger area. Fire restrictions (BBQ use) may be implemented without notice at any time by the North Tahoe Fire Protection District, www.ntfire.net. It is your responsibility to confirm and follow all fire restrictions for your event.

Protect Lake Tahoe from Aquatic Invasive Species

Non-motorized

All watercraft and gear must be Clean, Drained, and Dry before and after launching to prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species. Paddlers, kayakers, anglers, and other beachgoers are encouraged to become Tahoe Keepers to help protect our watershed.

Park Details

No dogs are allowed on Commons Beach, except for leashed dogs on the paved multi-use trail.
